Only age limit is differing as per the reserved category. Minimum age limit is for Scheduled caste and general candidates will get no concession in age limit.
SSC Stenographer Eligibility Criteria 2017
As mentioned in SSC Stenographer recruitment, Staff Selection Commission is going to recruit and hold an open competitive Computer Based Examination for Recruitment of Stenographer Grade C (Group B – Non-Gazette) and Stenographer Grade D (Group C Non-Gazette) in the month of September 2017.
Last date to apply for this is exam 15th July 2017. Hence all the candidates (who are eligible in stenographer exam) are advised to apply for the exam as soon as possible to avoid the last minute rush.

Selected candidates will be posted in Ministries/Departments of Central Government and their Attached/Subordinate offices all over States and Union Territories of the country.

Eligibility for Stenographer Grade C and Grade D
Candidates, having required skills in stenography, can apply. Others who are failing in fulfilling the minimum eligibility requirement do not apply. SSC will reject you if you are eligible.
Admit card for CBE (Computer Based Exam) will not be issued to the candidates who declare in their Application that they do not possess skills in Stenography.

18-27 years as on 01.08.2017
Candidates those who are wishing to apply need to have min 18 years age and can have maximum of 17 years. If you come under reserved category then you will get upper age limit relaxation for the post of Stenographer Grade C & D.
The date for age limit reckoning (calculation) is 01-08-2017. All the candidates should note that the Date of Birth as recorded in the Matriculation/ Secondary Examination certificate or an equivalent certificate only will be used to determine Age eligibility.

Candidates who wish to avail age limit relaxation must submit their certificates on the time of document verification for SC/ ST/ OBC/ PH (PWD)/ ExS categories.
Candidates must have passed 12th Standard or equivalent from a recognized Board or University as on 01.08.2017.
All type of graduation degrees/diplomas/certificates including technical education degree/diploma awarded through Open and Distance Learning mode of education by the Universities is valid.
If you qualify for skill test then you need to carry relevant Certificates such as Mark sheets, Provisional Certificates etc. for completion of Intermediate/Higher Secondary/10+2/Senior Secondary in original as proof of having acquired the minimum educational qualification on or before 1st august 2017. If you are unable to produce so then your exam will be cancelled by the Commission.
All Indian National are eligible and for other countries general nationality of SSC will be followed.

How to apply for SSC Stenographer Exam
- Candidates need to go to ssconline.nic.in. (only online form submission is allowed)
- Register for Stenographer if not already registred.
- Fill the application form carefully. Later edits will not be allowed in any circumstances. So candidates are advised to fill the form carefully.
- Now you need to pay the fee.
- andidate may note that only online application will be accepted at http://ssconline.nic.in website.
For General/OBC: Rs. 100/-
For SC/ST/Women/Ex servicemen: No fees
Fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.
