Step by Step Process in SSC CPO Exam 2017 Selection

Below are the given stages in ssc cpo exam. We will discuss each round in detail for ssc cpo process. You need to pass below rounds to get the final selection in SSC CPO Exam.

  1. Written exam paper 1 (Online mode)
  2. Physical Efficiency Test (PET/PST)
  3. Written Online examination tier 2
  4. Personality Test/Interview Process (Interview process has been stopped till next notification)
  5. Medical Examination
  6. Document Verification for SSC CPO

So i think you understood the complete process of CPO. Let me phrase it.

All the candidates who successfully filled the application form need to appear for SSC CPO Tier 1 Exam. You need to score above cut off marks (This is decided by commission). If you score above cut off marks then you will undergo Physical test (PST). Final merit list does not count Physical Exam marks.

Now all candidates who qualify in Physical Exam need to appear for SSC CPO Paper 2 Exam. This is final stage for CPO Selection. Those who get the passing marks in paper 2 will go to interview/Document verification Process. And if your document found satisfactory then you will get final joining letter.

Written Exam

SSC CPO Written exam is divided into two papers. Paper 1 and Paper 2. Both the papers are written exam

Paper 1 Exam Pattern

Subject are General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Knowledge and General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude and English Comprehension. Questions will be set in Hindi and English in Parts A, B and C of Paper I. In case of discrepancy, the English version will prevail.

Mode of Exam: Online Examination

Paper Type: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ)

Total Time: 2 Hours

Total Marks: 200 Marks

Negative Marks: Yes, 1/4 negative marking will be there in paper 1.

Paper 2 Exam Pattern

SSC CPO Paper 2 will be English language & Comprehension paper.

Paper Type: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ)

Total Time: 2 Hours

Total Marks: 200 Marks

Negative Marks: Yes, 1/4 negative marking will be there in paper 1.

Note: All the candidates, who have scored above the cut off marks will appear for Physical Endurance Test/Medical examination. Paper 2 will be after the medical exam.

Physical Endurance Test

Candidates who qualify the Paper 1 exam will go through PET / Medical Examination. There are certain criteria for physical exam/medical exam.

Note on PST Exam Criteria

  • No Chest criteria for female candidates in PST Exam.
  • Hill area includes Garhwal, Kumaon, Himachal Pradesh, Gorkhas, Dogras, Marathas, Kashmir Valley, Leh & Ladakh regions of J&K, North-Eastern States and Sikkim.
  • Weight: CPO exam weight criteria is Corresponding to height for all posts

Now all the candidates who qualify paper 1, Physical Endurance Test & paper 2 exam will go to personality test and interview round.

Personality Test/ Interview

If you qualify in Paper I of written examination and PET and Paper II then it will be called for Personality Test/ Interview. if you qualify this round then final round will be medical examination. Total marks in Interview (Personality Test) is 100 marks. In Personality test, expert will judge you based on different scenario to check your suitability of Delhi police/CISF/CAPF.

Medical Test

If you qualify the personality test then you need to attend the medical test by the Medical Officer of the CAPFs or any other Medical Officer or Assistant Surgeon belonging to Grade I of any Central/State Govt. Hospital or Dispensary. If you qualify in the medical test then final round will be merit list.

After both written Examination and the Interview /personality test, Staff selection Commission will release All India Merit List. The Commission will recommend the candidates in the Merit List on the basis of the aggregate marks obtained by the candidates in the written examination and interview/personality test.

After these rounds you are considered as final selected candidates. However you need to clear few curriculum activities to get the final post.
