Step by Step by step SSC CGL Selection Process 2017

Here we are mentioning step by step process of recruitment of ssc cgl exam.

  1. SSC Announces the calendar/dates of recruitment and other process.
  2. Staff Selection Commission Release SSC CGL Recruitment Advertisement on official website.
  3. It also announce the calendar for ssc exam.
  4. You need to read the cgl official notification and fill the application form in online mode.
  5. While filling application form, you need to choose the cgl post name and preference order as per your choice. we have provided preference in job profile in detail.
  6. Once you fill the online application form, you need to keep the application number safe for future reference.
  7. Now ssc cgl admit card and hall ticket will be released on its official website so you need to download it. please print the admit card for further reference.
  8. First round will be ssc cgl tier 1 exam so you need to read the syllabus and exam pattern for tier 1 and give the exam.
  9. If you clear the tier 1 exam then you need to prepare Syllabus and paper pattern of cgl tier 2.
  10. For Statistical Investigator Grade-II only and For Assistant Audit officer one additional paper (Subjective Paper) will conducted along with the SSC CGL English paper and quantitative paper.
  11. All the candidates who qualify tier two, will appear for CGL Descriptive Paper (Tier 3) exam. you can check here descriptive paper (tier 3) syllabus.

  13. Descriptive paper is Pen and Paper mode (Descriptive Type Questions) where you need to write essay/letter/precis/application in cgl tier 3 paper and clear the exam.
  14. You can choose any of the language(Hindi/English) in cgl tier three descriptive paper.
  15. Cgl final tier (dest/cpt) will be for those candidates who have applied for CSS (Central Secretariat Services) and for the post of Tax Assistant. the test is called Data Entry Skill Test (DEST)/Computer Proficiency Test (CPT).
  16. Last step is Personality Test Interview and Document Verification. Personality test is optional for few post and mandatory for few posts whereas Document Verification in cgl is mandatory for all posts.
  17. Now commission will release the All India Merit List for each category of post. Please read below updates as per the latest notification.
Official Update on ssc cgl selection procedure:

  • After the CBE(written exam) and the DEST/CPT/Document verification whichever applicable, the Commission will release the All India Merit List for each category of post.
  • All the qualifying candidates shall be recommended for appointment for each category of post up to the number of vacancies available, taking into consideration option (preference) for the posts.
  • The Commission will recommend the candidates in the Merit List on the basis of the aggregate marks obtained by the candidates in the written examination and preference exercised by the candidates during documents verification.
  • Once the candidate has been given his/her first available preference, as per his/her merit, he/she will not be considered for any other options.
  • Candidates are, therefore, advised to exercise preference in Application Form carefully. (read here ssc cgl post preference and how to fill)
  • SC, ST, OBC and PH candidates, who are selected on their own merit without relaxed standards, along with candidates belonging to other communities, will not be adjusted against the reserved share of vacancies. Such SC, ST, OBC and PH candidates will be accommodated against the general/unreserved vacancies in the post as per their position in the overall Merit List or vacancies earmarked for their category, whichever is advantageous to them.
  • The reserved vacancies will be filled up separately from amongst the eligible SCs, STs, OBCs and PH candidates.
  • A person with physical disability (OH/HH/VH) who qualifies the Commission’s examination under General standards can be appointed against an reserved vacancy provided the post is identified suitable for person with disability of relevant category
  • Success in the examination confers no right of appointment unless Government is satisfied after such enquiry as may be considered necessary that the candidate is suitable in all respects of appointment to the service/post.
  • The candidates applying for the examination should ensure that they fulfill all the eligibility conditions for admission to the examination.

Height:

Men:157.5 cms

Women:152  cms

Chest

Men: 81 cms (fully expanded with a minimum expansion of 5 cms.)

Weight

Women: 48 Kgs

Relaxation in Chest/Height/Weight (for Garwalis, Assamese, Gorkhas, Tribals, members of Kumaon Region, Nagas and Scheduled Tribes who as a race are short in height and not to the people declared as Scheduled Tribe)

Height Relaxation (Men): Height relax-able by 5 cms.

    1. No Preference for ARMY personal in CGL Exam selection but Ex service man will get age relaxation as per category.
