RRB NTPC Aptitude Test 2017
In this post we will discuss all the necessary detail on railway ntpc aptitude exam 2017. All the candidates who has qualified RRB NTPC mains (stage 2) exam result will be eligibility for aptitude or Typing Skill Test as per post preference. Typing Skill Test will be conducted for the posts of Junior Accounts Assistant-cum-Typist & Senior Clerk-cum-Typist.

Based on the performance in the 2nd stage of RRB CBT(Computer Based Test) for NTPC (Non-Technical Popular Category), quakified candidates pdf list is released. You can download and check your name in the list. This Test is for the posts of Assistant Station Master (ASM) – Cat. No.7.
Also shortlisted candidates will be intimated through SMS /e-mail for downloading of e-call letters to appear in Aptitude Test likely to be held in June/July, 2017.

Candidates may please note that the roll numbers of the shortlisted candidates for Aptitude Test/Typing Skill Test to be published on the RRB websites shortly. All the candidates who has qualified for Commercial Apprentice, Traffic Apprentice, ECRC and Goods Guard may not have roll numbers in the list.

NTPC Aptitude Test Pattern
Lets check the syllabus for RRB NTPC aptitude Exam Pattern. Aptitude Test will be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode. Aptitude test may comprise of several test batteries and the candidates will have to qualify in each of these batteries to be considered for the posts of Assistant Station Master (ASM) and Traffic Assistant.
Mode of Exam: Computer Based Test (CBT)
Post Eligible: Assistant Station Master (ASM) and Traffic Assistant
Duration: 84 minutes
Ratio of 2nd stage CBT marks and Aptitude Test marks shall be 70:30 ratio. 70% weightage to Stage 2 exam and 30% weightage for Aptitude Test.
Aptitude Test shall be conducted for which candidates equal to eight times the number of vacancies shall be called. In Aptitude Test you need to qualify all the batteries test individually.
This test Marks will be added to the 2nd Stage written examination(CBT) marks. Basis on ration mentioned, final merit list for the posts of Assistant Station Master (ASM)/Traffic Assistant will be declared.
If a candidate scores less than the respective qualifying marks in any battery of the RRB NTPC Aptitude Test, he/she will be eliminated from the selection process for ASM/Traffic Assistant. However, candidates will be eligible to be considered for other posts depending upon merit cum preferences and suitability.
RRB NTPC Aptitude test Syllabus
Aptitude test for the posts of Assistant Station Master (ASM) & Traffic Assistant will have below sections.
- Intelligence Test (बुद्धि परीक्षण)
- Selective Attention Test (चयनात्मक ध्यान परीक्षण)
- Spatial Scanning Test (स्थानिक स्कैनिंग परीक्षण)
- Personality Test (व्यक्तित्व परीक्षण)
Each test has separate Time Limit, which will be advised to you during test sessions. You have to solve test items and mark your answers within the prescribed time.
This test is to measure the Differentiation capacity of candidates. Two three figures will be given and you need to identify the different one.
Selective Attention Test
This exam is to analyse the selection power of the correct answer. Selective attention is the act of focusing on a particular object for a certain period of time while ignoring irrelevant information that is also occurring simultaneously.
Now in this test, you need find out the shortest possible route/way b/w to given points. This way reaction time and how fast you can solve a problem will be analysed.
Information Ordering Test
Name itself is speaking a bit about this test. Information Ordering is the test of your ability to arrange the things in certain order according to the specific rules.
In this test,
- You will be provided with two tables Table 1 and Table 2.
- Each question consists of a test figure at the start of the question.
- There are 4 process boxes A, B, C, D and each of them is divided into three different levels named as Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3.
- Each level in the Process boxes may or may not have ‘X’ sign.
- The Level having X sign denotes either Addition or Subtraction as indicated in the Table 1.
- If there is absence of X sign in the any level, then it means, nothing to be done (neither addition nor Subtraction) in that level.

Que – Aptitude Test is applicable to which posts of NTPC (Graduate) Exam?
Ans. – Aptitude Test is applicable to the post of Assistant Station Master (Cat. No. 7) and Traffic Assistant (Cat. No. 8).
Que – What will be the mode of Aptitude Test?
Ans. – Aptitude Test will be conducted only in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode.
Que – Whether original Medical Certificate by Eye Specialist is compulsory to appear in Aptitude Test?
Ans. – Yes. Medical Certificate certifying the required vision on proper proforma duly signed and stamped by Eye Specialist is compulsory to appear in Aptitude Test. Also a colour photo should also be pasted on the space provided in the Medical Certificate and to be attested by Eye Specialist.
Que – How many times of the vacancies, candidates will be shortlisted for Aptitude Test?
Ans. – For the post of ASM & Traffic Assistant, Aptitude Test shall be conducted for which candidates equal to eight times the number of vacancies shall be called for.
Que – How the merit will be drawn for the post of ASM & Traffic Assistant?
Ans. – The merit will be drawn only for the candidates found suitable in the Aptitude Test, with computation of 70% weightage being given to the marks obtained in 2nd Stage CBT and 30% weightage being given to the marks obtained in Aptitude Test.
Que – What will be the duration of Aptitude Test?
Ans. – The duration of the Aptitude Test is 84 minutes.
Que – What documents the candidate is required to bring for appearing in the Aptitude Test?
Ans – Please carry following documents,
- E-Call letter for the Aptitude Test,
- A recent passport size colour photograph (to be pasted on RRB counter foil of E-Call letter),
